Sylvester Robusta Palm

Phoenix sylvestris 'Robusta'

The Sylvester Robusta Palm is a bolder version of the classic Sylvester Palm. It is prized for its thicker trunk, fuller crown, and more dramatic presence in the landscape. Just like the standard Sylvester, it features a rugged trunk marked with diamond-shaped leaf scars, and a crown composed of gracefully arching fronds in shades of silvery blue to gray-green. The Robusta variety is a visual blend between the iconic tall slender Sylvester Palm and the imposing and full Canary Date Palm.

This cold-hardy palm thrives in USDA zones 8b-11 and can reach heights of up to 30-40 feet with a canopy spread of 15 feet. The Sylvester Palm is a low maintenance palm-known to be highly resilient- drought tolerant, wind-resistant, and adaptable to a variety of soil types.

Whether planted as a dramatic entry palm, driveway anchor, or pool centerpiece in a tropical or Mediterranean-style garden, the Sylvester Palm brings luxury wherever it is planted.
